Collette Burns

Collette is the Architectural Project Lead for TU Dublin on the emerging Grangegorman Campus in Dublin. She previously worked in private practice in Germany, Netherlands, the UK, and as an Associate Director at Henry J Lyons, Dublin. Her projects encompassed numerous project types across many geographical locations including housing in Almere in Netherlands, the Rio Cinema in London and the new Central Bank Headquarters in Dublin Docklands.


Her current role as Architectural Team Leader, working on many of the design, strategic & construction projects on the TUDublin Grangegorman Campus. This includes work on the historic buildings remaining on the campus, inputting into strategic alignments such as transport and heights reviews as well as liaising with the construction teams on new build work such as the Academic Hub, West Quad, Design & Construct at Broombridge and Focas Research Institute.


She taught Architecture & Urban Design at TU Dublin/DIT from 2000 to 2016 and remains active as a mentor & external examiner in the Professional Practice Course at this institute.


She has a Masters Degree in Urban Design from UCD and an MArch (design)from the Mackintosh School of Architecture, Glasgow. She is a member of both the RIAI and the Institute of Urbanism.
