Avove records fourth straight year of revenue and profit growth with £226.5m turnover

UK civils contractor Avove has delivered its fourth consecutive year of financial growth, posting turnover of £226.5m for the year to 31 December 2025, up 4.8% from 2024, alongside a pre-tax profit rise from £13.2m to £16.9m. Pre-tax margin improved from 6.12% to 7.48%, reflecting sustained operational progress across the firm's water and power portfolios.

Construction News reported that revenue growth was driven across most client accounts, with the firm crediting its engagement and delivery approach for earning client trust on critical and complex projects. Growth was partially offset by the loss of a Yorkshire Water contract and delays in Asset Management Plan 8 (AMP8), Ofwat's £100bn five-year programme to upgrade UK water infrastructure.

Operating profit rose to £15.6m from £12.5m the previous year, while net assets grew by nearly 50% to £41.7m. The firm closed the year with £15.6m cash at bank, no external loans or overdrafts, and paid no shareholder dividends, underlining the financial discipline underpinning its growth trajectory.

In a significant expansion move, Avove acquired Jacopa Ireland last August, establishing Avove Ireland and entering the Northern Ireland Water market for the first time. The firm also secured a new framework contract with Welsh Water and added four new regions to its Scottish Power Energy Networks relationship during the final quarter of the year.

Headcount grew from 795 to 806, with annual wages rising from £38.1m to £40.3m. Avove has held RoSPA Award accreditation for eleven consecutive years and maintains Achilles Audit compliance across its operations.

The contractor described its 2026 order book as strong, with AMP8 activity expected to step up materially.
