Industry NewsConstruction Club Cambria establishes futures division for emerging professionals
Welsh construction networking organisation Construction Club Cambria has launched Construction Club Cambria Futures, a new division supporting early-career professionals through networking, professional development, business collaboration and collective fundraising for local causes, with the group's first event scheduled for 9 April 2026 in Cardiff.
Business News Wales reported that the initiative will be chaired initially for its first year by Shauna Rees, senior associate in the real estate team at Capital Law, where the inaugural coffee morning will be held. The group aims to build a supportive community for aspiring leaders as they develop careers across the construction sector.
Rees said the organisers wanted to create a space where early-career professionals can network, share best practice and participate in events that help build long-lasting business relationships. She noted that investing in the next generation is essential for maintaining a vibrant and resilient construction sector in Wales, expressing gratitude for support from the main committee.
The committee includes representatives from legal practices, contractors, consultancies and specialist suppliers across the Welsh construction sector. Members include Clare Good, partner in property litigation at Knights, Carl Randall, pre-construction manager at Kier, and Amelia Silk, solicitor in real estate at Capital Law, alongside graduate, trainee and early-career professionals from major firms.
Gareth Hooper, chair of The Construction Club Cambria, said championing the next generation of leaders in and around the construction industry is incredibly important for the health of the sector and future of the region. He noted the Futures group brings fresh perspectives, energy and innovation, with the main organisation delighted to support the team.
