Industry NewsCPAC Modular launches Ireland's first RIAI-approved CPD course on modern methods of construction
Irish modular construction firm CPAC Modular has launched Built Smarter 2, the first CPD course approved by the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) dedicated entirely to Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), in a development that addresses a growing skills gap across Ireland's construction sector. The course is aimed at architects, engineers, contractors and developers seeking to advance their understanding and application of MMC on Irish projects.
Irish Building Magazine reported that the course was officially unveiled at an event hosted at the Irish Architectural Archive in Dublin, attended by architects and industry partners for an evening of insight, discussion and education. Built Smarter 2 builds on the award-winning Built Smarter 1 programme previously delivered by CPAC Modular.
Gavin Fox, director of business development at CPAC Modular, said: "Built Smarter 2 has been designed to give a clear, practical understanding of how MMC has advanced in recent years. There are still many misconceptions about what modern methods of construction can and cannot achieve. This course breaks those down and demonstrates the quality, flexibility, and design potential that MMC offers today and challenges why it is not being fully utilised currently."
Sean Murphy, managing director of CPAC Modular, said: "We are proud to be the first to deliver an RIAI-approved CPD focused on modern methods of construction. Built Smarter 2 reflects our ongoing investment in innovation and education for the industry."
The launch event featured a panel discussion on the future of MMC in Irish architecture, including contributions from architects who have successfully integrated MMC into their practice. The discussion covered sustainability, speed of delivery, design freedom and client expectations.
