Canada-based telematics provider Geotab has launched Geotab Build, a unified fleet management platform enabling construction operators to manage on-highway vehicles and off-highway assets through a single integrated environment, addressing industry fragmentation where digitised operations are currently split into non-communicating systems.

Yahoo Finance reported that the platform applies engineering rigor, scale and security from the world's leading telematics provider to the off-highway market, allowing mixed-fleet operators to manage construction machinery, specialty equipment and on-road fleets for the first time through unified command. Demos are available for prospective partners in the United States and Canada, with early access for select strategic customers beginning Q2 2026 and general availability planned for Q4 2026.

Neil Cawse, chief executive of Geotab, said construction needs to operationalise to keep pace with an accelerating world. He noted Geotab Build will deliver the essential data foundation required to activate AI expertise in the field, pulling fragmented jobsite information into one place to support better decision-making and more transparent management.

Dave Swan, vice president off-highway at Geotab, said construction management is defined by its nuances, with generic data unable to capture operational reality of a jobsite. He emphasised that by focusing on integrity of the data foundation, the company is providing intelligence required to move beyond basic tracking toward high-trust business decisions for improved asset performance, utilisation and operational efficiency.

The platform prioritises data ingestion and normalisation from hundreds of machine types, enabling mixed-fleet operators to access reliable, decision-grade insights. Geotab Build ensures insights are built on a foundation of truth by mapping productivity and safety standards directly to specific equipment characteristics.

The system brings construction machinery, specialty equipment, tools and on-road fleets together into one secure environment, providing seamless integration and ensuring visibility of tools and equipment even when powered vehicles leave the site.
