MH International has expanded its Irish operations with the opening of a new depot in Portlaoise, reinforcing its long-term commitment to supporting building and infrastructure activity across the country.

The temporary works supplier said the investment responds to sustained growth in Ireland and increasing demand for specialist engineering solutions. By establishing a permanent base, the company aims to improve responsiveness, shorten lead times and deepen relationships with contractors and project partners operating nationwide.

The Portlaoise facility will act as a central hub for MH International’s full portfolio of temporary works systems, including propping, jacking, groundworks and temporary bridging. It will also support the company’s end-to-end service model, covering in-house design, supply, installation and real-time monitoring, giving clients a single point of accountability across complex project phases.

To underpin the expansion, MH International has appointed a dedicated local sales and support team, providing on-the-ground expertise and faster access to technical advice. The depot has already created new jobs in the region and is expected to play a role in delivering major construction and infrastructure schemes in the years ahead.

John Breen, managing director of MH International, said the opening marked a strategic step forward for the business.

“This is an extremely exciting time, both for everyone at MH International and the industry. While we already have a strong presence in the Irish market, the opening of a dedicated depot marks the start of a new chapter,” he said.

He added: “Led by Wayne Fisher, our International Business Development Director, we hope it is one that will enable us to elevate our service levels and forge stronger relationships with our customers, existing and new.”
