Unlimited Industries secures funding to expand AI-led construction platform

Unlimited Industries, a California-based AI-led construction company, has raised $12 million (€10.3 million) in seed funding to accelerate its platform for large-scale infrastructure projects in the United States.

The round was co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and CIV, with participation from industry investors. The capital will support expansion of the company’s integrated engineering and construction teams and further development of its proprietary AI platform.

Unlike traditional construction firms, Unlimited Industries designs and builds using an AI platform that can evaluate hundreds of thousands of design configurations in parallel. This allows the company to identify optimal layouts for cost, safety and performance before construction begins.

Co-founder and CEO Alex Modon said: “Advances in AI mean we can finally build the physical world the way we build software.” He added: “The traditional construction model is slow, brittle, and fundamentally misaligned. Our approach replaces static design choices with a dynamic, data-driven process that learns from every project. The result is faster, cheaper, and more successful projects.”

The company was founded after Modon experienced inefficiencies and delays on major industrial projects in Texas. He partnered with Tara Viswanathan and Jordan Stern, who previously scaled Rupa Health to millions in revenue before its 2024 acquisition.

Unlimited Industries has already reduced pre-construction engineering timelines from six months to a few weeks on recent projects and identified designs that cut projected capital costs by over 50 percent. The company’s approach integrates design, engineering and construction to minimise delays and misaligned incentives.
